SOLVED - Touchpad not responding on Toshiba Laptop
Applies to Toshiba Satellite L300D Notebook
Problem
Bit of a strange one this, the touchpad mouse was not working on the laptop but only when it was lying flat on a surface. If I lifted up the front or back of the laptop, it started working. Also, it worked on my lap but not on a table and not on the floor.
Solution
I initially thought that this was being caused by pressure on the bottom of the laptop but I couldn't trace what pressure point was causing the problem.
Eventually, I decided to try the notebook on battery power an hey presto, the problem went away. I noticed that the plug on the power socket was a little loose and when it was in certain positions the mouse would stop working. It had been a replacement power supply bought from ebay. I tried it with my universal power supply and it had no problems so there you go, problem solved.
I hope this is of some help to someone. Thanks, Ste Edgoose
